The aims and objectives of the BAA are the advancement of knowledge and understanding of accounting. The BAA, which was established in 1947 and is a registered charity (No 299527), is a UK organisation which brings together those interested in teaching and research in accounting and finance. Please note that as the BAA is an academic research-based organisation we are not able to endorse services of any commercial organisations.
The BAA currently has about 800 members, many of whom are employed in UK Higher Educational institutions. Other members include representatives from leading firms of accountants as well as a significant number of private individuals and people based outside the UK.
